Client Requirement:
  • The client had experienced significant expansion in its collateral management operations covering all product lines. This had historically covered primarily OTC derivatives which had now outgrown the existing infrastructure and process environment. Additionally the aim was to expand the margining scope to cover repos and securities financing if needed in future
  • As such, the client wished to define and implement a strategic business operating model and technical architecture for collateral management across all product lines.

  • Review the existing organisational set-up and business processes for collateral management covering OTC derivatives
  • Review the existing technology architecture for collateral management for OTC derivatives and fixed income repo;
  • Outline the industry best practice requirements for collateral management across OTC derivatives, repos and securities lending;
  • Recommend a combined business operating model for collateral management across all product classes.
